The biggest online casino jackpot in Internet history was won by Sharon P. from Israel. Sharon cashed in US$171,975.53 on Saturday June 17th on a three dollar bet placed on the progressive slot machine "CashSplash" at King Solomon's Online Casino. One week later, on Saturday June 24th, Gerard M. won $120,074.78 at another CashSplash casino, Oscar Casino.

CashSplash is a progressive slot machine offered at dozens of online casinos that use MicroGaming casino software.

Harrah's Total Rewards won the "Best Slot Club" category in every jurisdiction where the company operates a casino, in Casino Player magazine's Best of Gaming readers' poll.

In total, Harrah's captured awards in more than 150 categories. "No casino company has garnered as many awards, in as many categories -- in fact, so clearly dominates certain categories and regions -- as Harrah's does," Casino Player Editor-in-Chief Adam Fine wrote in the magazine's July issue.

Casino mogul Steve Wynn told the Nevada Gaming Commission that he intends to tear down the Desert Inn hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip and replace it with a 6,000-room twin-tower luxury hotel and gaming complex, according to a story by Reuters. Wynn also indicated that he would change the name of the new, 59-storey hotel casino but did not say what the new name would be. The Desert Inn will close on September 30.

"What is the worst they can do to me?" Unfortunately for John Rocker the answer is not simply getting booed it is getting buried. Rocker is a 2 to 1 favorite (lay $2 to win $1) to ride the no.7 train into Shea stadium one day this weekend, according to Sportsbook.com.
