STRATEGY Gambler's Survival Guide By Max Drayman, http://www.winneronline.com Let's get right to it with 10 tips that will help you walk away from casinos with more money in your pocket: Tip #1 - Remember That Nothing Beats A Game Of Chance. You know the "systems" you've heard about, the ones that are supposed to be a sure-fire way to beat Roulette, or Craps, or the Lottery, or Keno? They may as well be written on toilet paper 'cause that's what they're good for. Nothing short of a rigged game is going to guarantee that you'll walk away a winner from the casino. And those fancy betting systems? Try them out on a "Free" game for a while and you'll see how far they get you. Fibonacci, Martingale, Grand Martingale, whatever. They all spell "lose faster" not "win more". Click for 9 more tips from Max |
BLACKJACK Betting and Bankroll By Ralph "The Silver Fox" Stricker, http://www.silverfoxbj.com One of the most frequently asked questions is: When do I raise my bets and by how much? The person who is playing Basic Strategy should not vary bets. The reason: If you are playing Single Deck blackjack you have an even game with the casino assuming that the rules are as follows: Late Surrender, Double after Splits and Doubling on any Two Cards. If not, you are playing with a slight disadvantage. In Multiple Deck you have a disadvantage even if playing perfect Basic Strategy. Four Decks is .46 percent, Six Decks is .56 percent and Eight Decks is .58 percent. Common sense dictates that if you are playing with a negative expectancy, then the more money you are putting into play, the greater the amount of money will be lost over the long term. VEGAS Prince Albert Dines at the Rio By Melanie Banks, Gambling Newsletter His Royal Highness Prince Albert of Monaco paid a visit to the Napa restaurant at the Rio Suites Hotel and Casino late Tuesday night and voiced his support for efforts to build a new gaming, entertainment and resort complex led by Italian developer Fabrizio Boccardi. "I am pleased to have the support and encouragement of my dear friend Prince Albert on my recent efforts to acquire the Desert Inn property for our proposed resort development in Las Vegas," said Boccardi. "What Fabrizio proposes is a dramatic vision that should set a new standard of success others will be hard pressed to follow," said Prince Albert. The Prince was in Las Vegas for vacation at the invitation of friends. |
HORSES The Two Horse Win Bet Strategy By P.D. Mahalik, http://www.turfnsport.com This is a reprint from an old Post Parade article where I reprint a contribution by Jim Kitt of TracStar.com. Jim and I are both fond of the two win bet strategy. The article analyzes a few methods for wagering two horses in the same race. The stated advantage of wagering two horses in the same race is that "losing streaks will be far less frequent and will be shorter in duration. Your chances of 'tapping out' will be greatly diminished. Because of this, the percentage of your bankroll that you wager on a race can very safely be increased from the 3 to 5 percent range to the 5 to 8 percent range. The disadvantage of a guaranteed losing ticket is more than offset by a higher win percentage at a higher average bet size." Click to read the rest of P.D.'s column |
